Job Description


Visa is searching for a Merchant Sales & Acquirers Director for MS&A (Merchant Sales & Acquiring) to lead MS&A team in the subcluster including Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia. As a key member of the MS&A team, the selected candidate will bring leadership, vision and creativity to expand acceptance, grow usage, and create profitable partnerships with merchants, acquirers and enablers both in eCommerce and F2F environment and drive Visa business across the subcluster.

  • Responsible for delivery of MS&A strategy and contribution to subcluster scorecard also managing team with the assigned accounts managing clients’ product portfolio, ensuring clients are provided appropriate support from Visa. Working closely with clients and team to identify new and ongoing requirements, introducing new products and services as appropriate relationship is maintained at the same time develop and execute sales strategies/account plans for the account managed to increase sales volume and expand the product range for clients.

  • The role will support Acquirers and enablers and both F2F and eCommerce merchants, including those which are operating at pan European, global level and in high-risk category.

  • The candidate will identify and prioritize client needs and crafting customized solutions that drive specific commercial metrics (e.g., business growth, Visa growth) and increase client satisfaction with Visa products/ services, also to optimize merchant and acquirer investments – identify opportunities that will jointly benefit clients and Visa.

  • Establish strong internal partnerships – partner with functions across Visa (e.g., sub-regional leadership, marketing, product development, risk, etc.) to collaboratively define responsibilities for various client outcomes and troubleshoot client relationships within Visa internally. Regularly liaising with multiple clients’ key stakeholders and working cross functionally to ensure an ongoing quality delivery.

  • Established fluency in all Visa merchant and acquiring-facing solutions and communicate and articulate all aspects of Visa value proposition for our clients.

  • Drive the sales of Visa core and digital products, develop appropriate business cases and forecasts, advocate for funding, identify and deploy Visa resources to address objectives, track our performance, and use learnings to inform future investment.

  • This role reports to the Head of Merchant Sales and Acquirers, CEE.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications

  • Experienced, results oriented leader with senior level business experience and a proven track record in managing clients/accounts, developing relationships and sales and managing high performing, fast paced teams
  • Good understanding of acquiring, including high risk acquirers, the eCommerce landscape and new payment technologies
  • 10 or more years of relevant work experience within payment sector including experience in acquiring, experience in merchants’ sector would be a plus
  • Proven ability to negotiate business agreements and to enhance existing and develop new business partnerships
  • Proven project management experience to continuously deliver multiple external and internal stakeholders initiatives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization including executive management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across functions and geographies in a complex matrix environment
  • Ability to manage & grow internal and external resources and cross functional relationships
  • Experience with client consulting projects a plus
  • Strong strategic and thought leadership skills
  • Global & entrepreneurial mindset
  • Data management and analytics skills
  • Fluency in English is a must
