Ramboll is growing its Strategic Sustainability Consulting division in Belgium. We work on a continuous basis with the European Commission, EU executive agencies and other clients to support the design, evaluation and implementation of core policy areas supporting the European Green Deal.
Specifically, we work in the policy areas of energy (energy efficiency and renewable energy), climate (mitigation and adaptation), environment (biodiversity, pollution, water) and just transition/just resilience. We are now looking to reinforce our team with new colleagues who have a strong interest to contribute to better policy making!

You will join our Strategic Sustainability Consulting division in Belgium
You will be part of a young, dynamic and growing department with a high level of trust, strong collaborative spirit and commitment to sustainability.
As a Management Consultancy within Ramboll, our projects are often characterised by bridging deep technical expertise and strategic understanding in strategy and policy advice. You will work continuously with our colleagues across Ramboll and have access to a global pool of technical expertise in Ramboll Group throughout Europe and worldwide.
Your responsibilities
Your key tasks and responsibilities as a Consultant in EU Environmental and Climate policy will be:
- Actively partake in proposal and report writing, projects and consulting assignments in the fields of climate, energy and environmental policy
- Planning and executing data collection and evidence gathering activities, qualitative and quantitative analyses, stakeholder consultations, strategy and planning processes.
- Participate in meetings with clients to present and justify methodological choices and study findings.
- Identifying and developing new opportunities, including by coordinating and drafting proposals.
- Building relationships with our clients and stakeholders, maintaining our network of partners and experts.
Your qualifications
From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:
- Master's degree in social, economic or environmental sciences, engineering, sustainability studies or similar
- For a consultant 2 years/Senior consultant 5 years of experience in consulting, project management, research, policy work or similar
- A passion for environmental topics with a desire to make an impact in the sustainability transition
- Knowledge of and interest in EU policy and one or more relevant policy areas
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Experience in drafting coherent and compelling analytical texts based on a wide range of qualitative and quantitative sources, with a strong attention to detail.
- You have excellent command of English, both written and oral, and ideally fluency in at least one more EU language.
