Job Purpose
Country Value & Access Head is a key strategic leadership role mandated to establish and build relationships with key influencers and decision makers (private and public) in order to facilitate bringing innovation solutions to market consistently and efficiently.
Critical to success in the role will be to ensure that Roche Diagnostics’ is able to provide the depth of necessary information and evidence to key decision makers in terms of health outcomes and tailored studies that demonstrate value and compliment the cost containment goals of the government while driving innovation. He/she will work in conjunction with field access teams to establish partnerships and create innovative solutions listing agreements that provide triple win outcomes. This will require new approaches and a clear strategy to operate effectively in a tightening and highly competitive market. This role will need to be diligent in focusing on cross-functional alignment and collaboration while ensuring focus on priority assets in key markets to ensure the highest possible rate of success and return as measured by fast patient access while meeting overall revenue objectives.
- Manage and develop the overall performance of the Value & Access units and co-create shaping and access strategies around key commercial priorities for E-L with diagnostics and OneRoche projects. Responsible for preparation and processing of regulatory and HTA submissions
- Anticipate Market Access requirements and adopt global strategy for pipeline and existing solutions, working closely with other functional business heads including medical, regulatory, digital, marketing and sales
- Ecosystem mapping in terms of country disease priorities and plans.
- Stakeholders mapping of payers, policy makers and influencers.
- Develop business relations with the various stakeholders within the ecosystem.
- Ensure effective and productive collaboration and exchange between the pricing, listing and Health Economic functions to ensure evidence supports local value proposition
- Monitor the political, regulatory and legal environments, and provide advice on its impact and seize new opportunities for Roche Diagnostics’ business.
- Actively participate in global/regional communities to share learnings and best practice
- Collaborate with Roche Rx and Diabetes Access teams on public health policy projects on a country level.
Experience and Qualification
- Bachelor's degree required in relevant scientific field; MBA or other related graduate-level degree preferred
- Extensive experience (+ 5 years professional experience) in market access combined with, market planning, development, business development in biopharma or diagnostics industry
- Understanding of commercialization of diagnostics tests
- Business acumen preferred: knows the industry, Roche's business model and value proposition, key competitors and other marketplace factors
- Financial acumen and analytical skills capable of effective and efficient use of market research, business forecasts and other quantitative and qualitative data
- Interpersonal & partnering skills: has proven abilities to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional, often virtual and matrix teams
- Ability to understand complex scientific issues and effectively translating these into effective access and business strategies
- Experienced communication and leadership skills, able to build strong relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
