Are you interested in operational procurement, making sure that the operation is running, and goods are delivered on time. Do you have a desire to perform Contract Management on the Material Contracts to drive best contract value and utilization and ensuring that all purchases are executed in accordance with applicable laws as well as internal procedures and regulations? if yes, then this position at TotalEnergies in Esbjerg office might be your match!
As Buyer in the Operational Procurement team, you will be part of the full process from approved request up until delivery of the goods in our warehouse. This includes sending out inquiries for quotations, bid evaluation, order creation and expediting. Furthermore, you will also be able to shape and develop a central role with great influence in preparing, negotiating, and issuing material contracts in respect of Company rules, including HSE rules, internal procedures, and applicable legislation.
This is with the possibility to continuously learn and develop your competencies in ensuring the good administration, filing and update of all the documents in SAP or the central drive. You will get to use your knowledge and experience applying a range of techniques when negotiating prices with vendors based on knowledge of the market as well as the technical and operational requirements of the product.
Overall, you have the responsibility of ordering the requested goods and services, in a timely, cost-efficient, secure and commercially sound manner. You are the one to process purchase-requisitions from technical and operational staff, including clarifying the content and requirements of the goods/services to be purchased. Furthermore, you will ensure that all approvals, justifications, circulation forms are filed in line with the applicable procedures. You will also demonstrate personal commitment to the Company’s HSE Policy. Finally, you are responsible for timely follow up on purchase requests and pending purchase orders.

Context and environment
These areas of responsibilities will include tasks such as:
- Generate and send out inquiries for obtaining quotations. Critically follow up on, evaluate and assess quotations in collaboration with technical staff, including comparing and evaluating the commercial soundness of each quotation.
- Supports technical and operational staff regarding the acquisition of selected materials, goods and services.
- Evaluates offers and issue purchase orders to relevant vendors and suppliers.
- Ensuring that all data in the purchase order system (SAP) is correct and up-to-date.
- Ensuring timely payment of invoices.
Candidate profile
It is important that you possess a safety mindset and address the job with a strong understanding of the business and people. Naturally, you thrive in a highly independent and visible position in a free and dynamic working environment. Moreover, this position calls for commercial awareness, ability to compare and assess the commercial strength of technical quotes. This is with strong negotiation skills and therefore good communication skills combined with fluent English in both speech and writing is relevant. We are looking for a strong team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals.

Your background
- Relevant procurement experience is preferred.
- Relevant educational and/or operational background in purchasing and logistics.
- Knowledge of procurement scope and processes.
- Knowledge of using SAP is an advantage
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
